Initial Accreditation
ECEID Business & Technology Accreditation
The ECEID initial accreditation is a comprehensive quality-assurance pathway designed to evaluate the academic rigor, governance capability, and strategic alignment of institutions offering business, management, and technology programs.
The process includes a structured review of institutional documentation, guided mentorship from an ECEID expert, the development of an Initial Self-Evaluation Report (iSER), submission of the Final Self-Evaluation Report (SER), and an onsite peer review.
Once accreditation is granted, institutions enter a six-year continuous improvement cycle to ensure sustained alignment with ECEID standards.
Accreditation Process
1. Become an Educational Member of ECEID
Institutions must first join ECEID as an Educational Member. Membership establishes eligibility and grants access to the accreditation framework, guidelines, and advisory resources.
2. Define the Review Scope
Accreditation may apply to the entire institution or a specific school or division.
Institutions choosing a division-level review must submit a Scope Identification File, explaining the academic boundaries and programs included.
ECEID must approve this file before continuing.
3. Submit the Admission File & Prepare the Initial Diagnostic Report
The institution submits its Accreditation Admission File, which initiates the evaluation process.
Once accepted, ECEID assigns:
-
A Guidance Adviser to support the institution
-
An Accreditation Officer as the primary point of contact
The institution then develops an Initial Diagnostic Report outlining governance, faculty profile, curriculum structure, digital resources, and quality mechanisms.
4. Payment of Accreditation Activation Fees
ECEID sends a confirmation letter and activation invoice.
Payment of the fees officially opens the accreditation cycle.
5. Standards Alignment Phase
The institution works with the adviser to identify its current level of alignment with ECEID standards.
This phase focuses on academic processes, program relevance, student outcomes, partnerships, and resource adequacy.
6. Submit the Alignment Report and Strategic Plan
The institution submits an Alignment Report and its Strategic Plan for review.
ECEID may decide to:
-
Accept the report and invite the institution to move forward
-
Accept the report with required progress updates
-
Request revisions and resubmission
7. Final Evaluation, Pre-Visit Review, and Onsite Assessment
The institution submits its Final Evaluation File, which is reviewed by ECEID before the visit.
An external review team conducts interviews, verifies evidence, and assesses academic performance.
The team then issues a recommendation: accreditation, improvement period, or refusal.
8. Final Decision
The ECEID Accreditation Board reviews all documents and ratifies the final decision.
Accredited institutions enter a six-year improvement cycle with periodic monitoring.
